Before you lay Pool Pavers, you should consider your pool’s surrounding landscaping. Some materials require regular staining or sealing while others need constant care to maintain their non-slip qualities. Pressure-treated wood and many types of natural stone require regular maintenance such as sealing and patching, and pavers may require replacement of joint materials after a certain amount of time. The maintenance required by your materials will depend on your climate, the amount of sunlight your pool receives, and other factors.
A pool area requires a non-slip surface, so pavers installed around the pool should be slip-resistant. Choosing mid-toned or light-colored pavers are safer than white, as dark colored pavers tend to become hot underfoot. Flamed and sawn pavers are also safer than smooth honed or bush-hammered pavers. If your budget doesn’t stretch that far, you can consider installing a low-maintenance coping made of concrete.
Coping around your pool is another important part of the design. Coping adds an extra layer of protection and utility. It also provides an extra border to grab onto when you get out of the pool. You can install pool coping by hiring a professional paver. It’s not as expensive as concrete coping, but it does add beauty and style to your swimming pool. You can choose between pencil round or drop edge coping. The difference between them is the thickness and the appearance.
To lay Pool Pavers, you should first prepare the base area. The base should be four to six inches thick and be level. Using a compactor is a good option to compact the base, and it will help you to lay the pavers in the correct patterns. Once the base is ready, lay the pavers one at a time and make sure to overlap the pavers if necessary. You can even use scrap cardboard for protection while compacting.
The style of your pool should match the rest of the surrounding garden area. You can choose pavers with a similar color tone to blend seamlessly into your garden. If you’re planning on using Stone Pavers to cover your pool area, choose a color tone that complements the stone-like appearance of the surrounding area. If you live in a 1960s house, Flagstone paving will look good there. On the other hand, a contemporary home with a modern interior design may look better with a traditional-style design.
When choosing Pool Pavers, consider the surrounding landscape and the type of water you plan to use. Pool pavers should have anti-slip qualities and be comfortable to walk on. If you live in a region that receives high heat, it is advisable to choose pavers that are lighter in color. Pale pavers look especially striking when the sun is shining directly on them. They also help to make a pool look luxurious. Choose the right color, texture, and material for your pool paving.
Pool Pavers are easy to install and require minimal maintenance compared to other materials. They don’t need any mortar to be set in place. Besides, they are slip-resistant and are easy to repair if necessary. You can also repair them by replacing individual pavers if one of them breaks. Pool Pavers are cost-effective because they can be used in almost any outdoor space. They are also available in a variety of colours, shapes, and patterns.
Stone and brick are also good options for a pool deck. Stone and brick pavers come in many colors and styles and are naturally occurring. Unlike concrete, stone and brick pool pavers will not crack or fade, creating a slip-free area around the pool. However, be sure to ask for an estimate – they will usually be free. A quick comparison of prices will allow you to decide which pool deck material is best for your budget.
When choosing your pool paving material, remember to choose a material that’s cool underfoot. Pool pavers should be cool to the touch, so your bare feet won’t get burned. Travertine is a popular choice for pool decks, as it doesn’t retain heat and looks luxurious around the pool. It will complement any pool decor, and it will be easy to match your pool with its surrounding landscape. If you’re not sure what color palette you want, then consider some pool paver ideas.
Porcelain pavers are an excellent choice for swimming pool coping. Pools are often slippery, so it’s essential to protect your deck from these hazards. Porcelain pavers are naturally anti-slip, so even when wet, they will retain their grip. This will help prevent accidents and ensure a safe and comfortable environment for everyone in the vicinity. These pool coping materials will be safe and attractive for years to come.
