Teaneck (/ˈtiːnɛk/) is a township in Bergen County, New Jersey, United States, and a bedroom community in the New York metropolitan area. As of the 2010 United States Census, the township’s population was 39,776, reflecting an increase of 516 (+1.3%) from the 39,260 counted in the 2000 Census, which had in turn increased by 1,435 (+3.8%) from the 37,825 counted in the 1990 Census. As of 2010, it was the second-most populous among the 70 municipalities in Bergen County, behind Hackensack, which had a population of 43,010.
Teaneck was created on February 19, 1895, by an act of the New Jersey Legislature from portions of Englewood Township and Ridgefield Township, both of which are now defunct (despite existing municipalities with similar names), along with portions of Bogota and Leonia. Independence followed the result of a referendum held on January 14, 1895, in which voters favored incorporation by a 46–7 margin. To address the concerns of Englewood Township’s leaders, the new municipality was formed as a township, rather than succumbing to the borough craze sweeping across Bergen County at the time. On May 3, 1921, and again on June 1, 1926, portions of what had been Teaneck were transferred to Overpeck Township.
If you’ve been considering a Paver Driveway, then you’re not alone. Pavers are a great option for many reasons. From aesthetics to safety, pavers can make a big difference in the look and feel of your home. Plus, they can enhance resale value over concrete. In addition to boosting the curb appeal of your property, pavers create a warm and inviting first impression. For example, they make a beautiful and welcoming walkway, patio, or driveway.
The interlocking stones used in paver driveways have a unique nib-shaped design that helps surface water drain between the blocks. These pavers are durable and can withstand shifting earth and weather. They can also be painted to match your home’s exterior. Pavers have the added benefit of being low-maintenance, meaning that they require very little maintenance. Furthermore, they are very low-maintenance, lasting for up to 5 years.
When installing a paver driveway, you’ll also need to consider the longevity of the driveway itself. While concrete slabs may hold their level for a while, the soil can shift over time and cause cracks. Pavers, on the other hand, are more resistant to changes in temperature. This means that they can contract and expand without cracking. That’s great news for homeowners. In fact, Paver Driveways last for decades!
Choosing a material for a new driveway is an excellent idea if you want to increase the value of your property. It will make your home stand out from the rest. And it won’t cost you a lot. Another benefit to Paver Driveways is that they don’t require a professional’s help. If you’re planning to lay a Paver Driveway yourself, it’s a great idea to invest in a high-quality, long-lasting product.
Bricks are another option. Bricks range in price from six hundred to one thousand pounds. Bricks have a strength rating of 12,000 pounds per square foot. Bricks are typically rectangular and have an earth tone color. You can create a unique look with bricks, but be aware that they aren’t a cheap option. However, they’re still worth the investment. So, even if you’re on a tight budget, they might be a great option for your home.
Although Pavers may last for 5 years, they require little maintenance. While they’re durable and resistant to wear and tear, they can still stain. They can also crack under the pressure of tree roots and weeds. In addition, they can be expensive, ranging from a few hundred dollars to as much as three thousand. And, if you’re looking to create a longer driveway than the standard one, you’ll need to install additional drainage.
Edging is another important feature of pavers. When installing edging, make sure that it’s not too big, as large edging stones can take away from the look of your home. A subtle, low-key pattern is a better choice. And if you have a narrow driveway, bricks are a great option because they’re easy to replace if they get damaged. Steel edging can also help support the asphalt edge when it’s hot and keeps gravel in its place.
Different driveway materials come in many shapes and colors. Choosing the right one depends on what you’re looking for in a driveway, how much it will cost to install, and how much maintenance you’re willing to give it. Choosing the right shape can increase your curb appeal, provide more parking space, and improve the overall functionality of your home. Most driveways are straight, but you can also choose from S-shaped, circular, horseshoe, and half-circle shapes. However, these shapes will typically increase the cost of your driveway by ten to thirty percent.
The cost of a Paver Driveway is significantly higher than asphalt and concrete slabs. The installation of pavers requires extensive excavation and grading of the site. Paver driveways can cost anywhere from $530 to $1500 depending on the type and size of the project. It may take you several days to complete a thousand square foot driveway, so you may want to get help from a professional. But it’s definitely worth the money.
Unlike asphalt and concrete, paver driveways require minimal upkeep. Generally, pavers need to be sealed periodically to prevent stains from vehicles. However, asphalt requires more frequent maintenance. Asphalt services include crack sealing, sealcoating, and patching. Concrete and asphalt driveways are more difficult to repair and require more maintenance. Furthermore, repairs are visible. A Paver Driveway can add curb appeal to your home and increase your property value. So, if you’re considering a Paver Driveway for your home, you need to choose carefully.
